House of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary
In Ireland, the canons of the Institute have established their headquarters in the Diocese of Limerick in 2006. The Institute also has apostolates in the Diocese of Down and Connor (where in 2019 they reopened a former Presbyterian church in Belfast) and in Galway.
Despite these very challenging times for Ireland, the Institute has recently acquired the Convent of Mercy located in Ardee, County Louth, thanks to many generous benefactors and a new large mortgage for the community.
The iconic building, which belonged to the Sisters of Mercy, was vacated last year. The Sister Adorers have visited Ireland several times these last few years, and Ireland has become very dear to their hearts.
It is a privilege for the sisters to have a permanent presence on the Emerald Isle once blessed by so many religious orders. With the grace of God, they have begun their community life in the footsteps of the Sisters of Mercy with daily adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the singing of the Divine Office in Gregorian chant. The convent will also serve for the Institute’s African missionaries who will find in Ardee a place where they can rest, pray and recover from their apostolic work in a much cooler climate.
