We arrived in 2005 in this large house, also known as the house with a hundred windows, which overlooks the Arno valley and the village of Sieci. This is the first house where our community settled, after several temporary installations around Florence. The house is located two kilometers downhill from the seminary, which allows the sisters to attend the solemn Masses and Offices at the seminary for liturgical feast days throughout the year. The house was almost in ruin when we arrived, and community life was really precarious for a few years. Throughout ten years, immense work was undertaken to consolidate the walls and repair the roofs, thanks to the help of generous benefactors. The house has regained its true splendor; the details of the house’s exterior have been carefully restored, as shown by the delicately ornate cornices on the facade. Roofs and facades have been redone in accordance with the recommendations and instructions of the Florentine Fine Arts. In the coming years, we will try to complete the interior work: not all of the rooms have heat, and many of the rooms are not yet furnished!
